Another art installation I liked at the Cornelia Parker art exhibition was “War Room”. A room covered with rolls of red paper with perforations where poppies had been punched out. The absence of the poppies is very meaningful because a lot of people went to the war and didn’t return home.

This is from the current art exhibition of Cornelia Parker at Tate Britain. The artist talks about the anxiety she suffered when she made this artwork knowing her East London home was going to be demolished to make away for the M11 link road. Would have that contributed to the urge of destruction she suffered before creating this work?

Cornelia Parker’s art show is still at Tate Britain. The art show opens with the enthralling “Thirty Pieces of Silver” (1988-89). Thirty groups of silverware hovering inches above the ground in darkness. Parker steamrollered them to take away their volume leaving them as flat as the Disney cartoons deaths of Roadrunner we used to watch when we were kids.

‘What does love sound like?’, ‘what monuments are for?’ or ‘we live in clothes, we live in buildings, do they fit us?’. These are some of the questions we are confronted with at the current Lubaina Himid art exhibition in @tate
